● 平 level○ 仄 oblique (上去入)◐ 多音字 — depends on the reading· not in the 392-character table

Tone classes follow Middle Chinese, so 入聲 syllables such as 白, 石, 竹 and 國 count as 仄 even though they are level-toned in modern Mandarin.

II. Principle

How it works

Each character is annotated with its Middle Chinese tone class (平 level / 仄 oblique) using an open tone dictionary. The tool then aligns the pattern against common regulated-verse templates (五言律詩, 七言絕句, etc.) and reports matches or deviations.
